Huka Lodge launches new bridal programme

wedding_picHuka Lodge, one of the world’s most romantic places, has launched an entirely new bridal program with a dedicated section within its website linking planners and bridal couples to a highly personalized, bespoke service, tailored to create the perfect wedding, whether for 10 or 70 guests.

Following recent initiatives, which include an international promotion with French jewellery house Chaumet and a honeymoon package lavishing the bride and groom with gifts, the Lodge has produced a programme which makes booking and planning a wedding at this iconic venue simple, but incredibly special.

Weddings at Huka Lodge are defined as a different pace of occasion due to everything taking place within the same venue, the result being an event that feels like a house party, with a relaxed atmosphere, no pressure to have to drive and time to spend with guests.

Within its 17-acres of park-like grounds, the Lodge offers bridal couples many stunning locations to choose from, including:

  • The Owner’s Cottage can host up to 30 guests for a small intimate wedding ceremony followed by drinks and canapés, or a seated wedding reception for 10 guests, with private chef.
  • The Alan Pye Cottage will accommodate up to 40 guests for a wedding ceremony, drinks and canapés and can provide seated dining for 8-10 guests.
  • The Library within the main Lodge is cosy for a wedding reception for 10-12 guests.
  • The Trophy Room, located upstairs within the main Lodge can seat 22-24 guests.
  • The Jetty Pavilion on the banks of the Waikato River can seat 8 guests.
  • The Orchard, an outdoor venue above the Wine Cellar, can seat 20 guests at two tables of 10.
  • The Wine Cellar is a perfect venue for 12 guests to celebrate a small wedding.

Large exclusive-use weddings:

  • Main Lodge (with enclosed terrace) can seat up to 70 guests for a wedding reception. (There is an additional cost of $500.00 + to erect a marquee to enclose the terrace.)

Main Lodge only, can seat 40-48 guests. Huka Lodge is a sister property to Dolphin Island, Fiji and Grande Provence Estate, South Africa, and each of these also has the capacity to arrange weddings and honeymoons, with comprehensive details available on the new website. All three properties comprise The Huka Retreats and are the vision of their founder, entrepreneur Alex van Heeren.
