Worlds Apart, The Huka Retreats

Worlds Apart, The Huka Retreats

A publishing project conceived and directed by the owner of The Huka Retreats, Alex van Heeren, Worlds Apart is a stunning 304-page global journey to three of the world’s most special places – Huka Lodge, New Zealand, Dolphin Island, Fiji and Grande Provence in South Africa.

Taking over two years to come to fruition, this handsome book showcases all the beauty and romance of the architecture, interior design, gardens and magnificent landscape that define so much of the absolute style of The Huka Retreats.

Worlds Apart features a Foreword by one of The Huka Retreats’ most beloved guests, the late Bryce Courtenay, who sadly passed away as the book was being sent to the printers. Owner Alex van Heeren shares his own passion and vision for all three properties within his personal Introduction and within the three short essays that preface each section of the book.

Richly and profusely illustrated with photographs by Geoff Mason, whose travels to all three properties have resulted in an extraordinary group of images, capturing the true spirit and passion of The Huka Retreats so exquisitely within Worlds Apart.

Worlds Apart is generous in size and beautifully produced; it measures 300mm x 267mm (portrait) and is a contemporary style, flexi-bound, soft cover format, with matt laminate covers.

Release date: March 2013.
