Drawing inspiration from interior designer, Virginia Fisher’s tartan nuanced interiors, the innovative food and beverage team at Huka Lodge have introduced tutored whisky tastings to their growing list of bespoke guest experiences.
The whisky tasting flight experience showcases five very carefully selected whiskies, three of which are exquisitely paired with canapé-style accompaniments. These have been created especially by Executive Chef, Paul Froggatt, to enhance the unique qualities of each whisky. These pairings draw together Balvenie 21-year whisky – with smoked salmon, Oamaruvian 10-year whisky – with dark chocolate and hazelnut and Lagavulin 16-year old whisky – with Mt. Eliza blue cheese.
These tutored tastings are led by passionate whisky aficionados and they are designed to entertain, as well as inform. The Huka Lodge whisky tasting needs to be booked in advance and is subject to availability at a cost of NZ$85.00 per person.
