Huka Lodge, founded in 1924 and famed for its location on the banks of New Zealand’s stunning Waikato River, has been rated #9 in Andrew Harper’s Top 20 International Hideaways in its highly respected Annual Readers’ Choice Awards.
Andrew Harper’s The Hideaway Report is regarded as one of the world’s most credible travel publications, run in conjunction with its full-service luxury travel company. The Annual Readers’ Choice Awards recognize leading hotels, resorts, safari lodges and cruise ships.
This latest accolade comes just after Huka Lodge was voted by Conde Nast Traveller UK as the Best Hotel in Australasia and the South Pacific, with both awards providing a fitting celebration of the legendary lodge’s 90th anniversary.
Huka Lodge is a sister property to Dolphin Island, Fiji and Grande Provence Estate, South Africa. All three properties comprise The Huka Retreats and are the vision of their founder, entrepreneur Alex van Heeren.
